Description |
WHEELBARROW - This wheelbarrow is made of wood with metal brackets and a metal wheel. The structure is supported by two rectangular beams attached to an axle on one end and outward to form tapered handles at the opposing end. Two metal brackets/supports attach to these beams and the square legs on an angle forming a triangle at the intersection of the two legs and handles. A thin rectangular piece of wood, held in place by a circular washer and square bolt on either end, attaches to each led half way up on the back portion to stabilize the structure. Four planks of wood are pushed together to form the base of the tray or bed. The sides of the tray are removable. A wedge shaped stake is attached to the pack of the side portion and inserted through a u shaped bracket attached to the handle beam on either side. The other end of the sides was inserted between the angled front board and the metal that covers its exterior edges. This would stabilize each side piece. The front angled board was supported by a v shaped bracket that was attached at its base to the handle beam. The front wheel is made of metal with some rusting. Six spokes are evenly spaced on the wheel, with 3 attached to one side of the hub and 3 to the other. Each side of the wheelbarrow has the same stenciled writing in yellow paint. This writing read, "OTACO LTD.", "ORILLIA ONTARIO". On one side there is a split in the wood that runs through the writing. |
